Spam with Mixed Veggies

Ever came to a point that you simply got tired of eating fried SPAM? Well I do sometimes! I've thought of another way to cook SPAM and here's a simple recipé that you can try out. :-)

Ingredients:
1 can SPAM of any flavor, cut into small cubes
1 can mixed vegetables or 1 can whole kernel corn
4 pcs chopped garlic
1 pc onion
2 cups water
Olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste

Procedure:
Sauté onion and wait until it becomes translucent then add garlic.
Put SPAM then sauté again.
Add mixed vegetables or whole kernel corn.
Add water, salt and pepper to taste then let it simmer.

If you have any SPAM recipé to share, just leave your comment below. Enjoy eating! :-)

Cheers to my name day 2013

I almost thought that my birthday this 2013 would just pass by like an ordinary day. It was jam-packed and tiring as I was busy from day until night.

I attended mass at 8:30 in the morning and went straight to LTO Angeles to renew my Driver's License. Back when I was in the church, I got really worried because I got a text from my friend that we may not push through with the celebration, but thank God, it was managed. It took me two hours to get my renewed license and then went home for breakfast.

At twelve noon, I met up with my closest friend to have lunch and to my surprise, he handed me a gift; four cupcakes of different designs in a box by Bake A Wish at Nepo Mall. We then decided to try out something that we have not gone to before and ended up at Binalot, Nepo Quad.

The food was great, it is of course served and binalot in a banana leaf. Once you open the leaf, everything is already there. I ordered combinalot liempo with sisig while he ordered combinalot liempo with chicken adobo. The price is quite affordable and the food itself is enjoyable to eat. The place has a very good ambiance. I'd give it 8/10 for the creativeness of walls, the ceiling, wash area.

At three in the afternoon, I met up with another friend, helped him out in purchasing an iPhone 5 and acted as middleman. It was a quick transaction, hoping that nothing goes wrong with his device. What's cool about it is that, his iPhone 5 and I have the same birthday! A-H-A-H-A

Since its my birthday, I decided to eat spaghetti which is a famous menu on birthdays as it symbolizes long life. My friend told me there's this unlimited pasta and pizza in The Old Spaghetti House for only P149, so we had dinner there after watching Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2.

We got ourselves to try out all four flavors of spaghetti and three flavors of the thin crust pizzas. If you were to ask me, I didn't really like the way the pasta is served. All it had with it was the sauce, and had no mushroom, veggies, meat etc. We were not allowed to have any leftovers or even share our unlimited pasta and pizza considering that both of us had the same order.

Overall, I did enjoy my birthday for this year. It's one of T-H-E B-E-S-T!!! :-)

Food Porn 26092013

Today my stomach got really big and full from 1:30PM lunch time to 10:30PM which is my sleeping time. I met up with two of my best buddies separately, first was with my college friend, Rhea whom I have not spoke with for a couple of months already. Second was with my foodie addict buddy, JP who is on the go to try out restaurants that we have not tried before.

I went out of the house at around 11:30AM so I can visit at Carmelite Monastery and light up some candles for my personal intentions and to pray for a close friend who has been sick for two days now. After that, I met up with Rhea to eat lunch with her in Gustav, Nepo Quad. Both of us ate pasta, hers was Pasta Gambasitas and mine was Pasta Serena. She was wondering Pasta Serena taste like because they used Vermicelli-like pasta. I explained to her that they used Angel Hair pasta for the recipé. She kept asking, what is that? So I asked, if its her first time to hear about the Angel Hair pasta. She said that she didn't like my order because it tasted like Pancit Palabok served in Kabigting's Halo-Halo.

We were in Gustav for almost three hours, eating, chatting, and all the time, I was the one on the hot seat. As always, we enjoyed our conversation because we almost always share the same issues arising from work, friends, etc. I can't wait to see her again and have another long chat.

At 3:00PM I went straight to Robinson's Place in Balibago to meet up with my other friend JP. He just came from work and I helped him out to inquire about his SSS sickness benefit. We ate at Purple Pad Thai and obviously, Pad Thai was first on our list then added Bagoong Rice and Fried Fish with Tamarind Sauce. As for the drinks, he ordered Thai Milk Tea and Ice Blended Green Tea. When we tasted the drinks, especially my drink, which is the latter, he said it tasted like detergent used to clean toilet bowl! And so I stopped drinking it and he gave me half of his Thai Milk Tea instead.

It was fun. My stomach was still full that's why we were not able to finish everything. We waited for his friend who works in Purple Pad Thai and asked for discount, his friend offered 5% discount. We had small chat with him and asked us how's the food and drinks. JP told him that he liked the Pad Thai served in Cisan's, Nepo Quad. I second demotion and told Kev, JP's friend to try the one in Cisan's too.

We then went to SM City Clark to check out on the new Annex Section. Ended up watching movie because we still had plenty of time. At first, he was joking around telling me that he would like to watch Momzillas but finally decided to watch Runner, Runner instead. Before we went inside the cinema, we stopped by this arcade called Ocean Star, it looks addicting and fun. Might try it next time.

Our last pit stop? Dairy Queen for dessert(Thanks JP for the treat!). Mango Oreo Blizzard for me and Chocolate Oreo Blizzard for JP.

I wonder when will my next food porn be? Peace! :-)

A reason to celebrate 21092013

Few people knew what was it that I'm celebrating today. I'll probably leave the guess upon you. Whatever the reason maybe, what's important is how happy I have been. Yes, I was not celebrating with the person I'm expecting to go with me, but a close friend filled in, and cared to celebrate - probably on behalf of that right person(perhaps).

My friend and I went to Marquee Mall and Cisan's to unwind, chill, and indulge ourselves with luscious food and drinks. He invited me over to watch Insidious: Chapter 2 because he got very curious as to why the movie became a trending topic in social networking sites. In fact, he have not watched the first installment of the movie so I had to explain some of the scenes which he didn't understand. Just yesterday, I had to finish watching the movie so I can relate to the story of the movie we're going to watch.

The movie was great. As my friend told me, he'd give it 7/10 rating. With all the inter looping stories behind the lady in black, the mother, Elisse, Josh, it would somehow challenge your mind and would find yourself asking - WHY? What's funny is I caught him shouting "Ay P*TA ka"(which is "You B*TCH" in english) three times within the duration of the movie. I was like having thoughts behind my back, it really is that scary eh?!

After watching, we headed straight to Cisan's located at Don Juan Nepomuceno Street, it's one of the establishments that I visit every now and then to dine in. We tried out Pad Thai, Chicken Barbecue, and Mango Slush. It probably is pricey, but the food is definitely worth the try. You'll surely love the food on the menu. Try it when you have time!

I was somehow embarrassed because he said he'll treat me tonight. I guess I will have to pay it forward and pay my debt of gratitude next time. PEACE! :-)

Love on a saucer

Back in the days, my friends and I hangout and went on a food trip. One of our friends brought her classmates with her and we decided to dine at the Village Chef located in Marisol Subdivision. They are open Friday to Sunday from 6:00PM - 11:00PM.

For restaurants whose menu is cooked as you order, they usually serve sliced focasia breads or crispy bread sticks while waiting. Focasia breads are nice complimentary breads, you can dip them in vinigrettes or eat them as it is. While my bestfriend and I were eating, and after I dipped the sliced bread, we noticed that the vinigrette in the saucer had a heart shaped figure so we took a picture of it. We even joked about it like maybe it's a sign or something. Of course, everybody knows that our relationship is platonic. We always have our indifferences, ups and downs but we managed to overcome those situations. I wish we could talk more soon and reminisce moments like these.

McDonalds Nepo Mart Branch now open!

Another branch of McDonalds in Angeles City just opened recently. That's a total of five franchised stores here in Angeles City. Among these stores, the newly opened branch in Nepo Mart is my favorite even though I haven't been there yet.

One reason why it's my favorite is because of the cool ambience. Since it's franchised, it will be the usual menu that will be served, but just outside, it sets the difference. Most probably, the owner is a nature lover. You'll see chinese bamboo, birds of paradise, plants, plants, more plants and a fountain. The water that draws out of the hose and meet in the middle and shapes like M and obviously stands for McDonald's.

I wonder what it's like during night. That fountain will look great if colored lights illuminate the water strokes to emphasize on what it wants to reveal. That is, the letter M. I might as well try to visit this branch one of these days - or nights. :-)

Do you see the huge building in the background? That's one of the very reason as to why this McDonald's Nepo Mart branch was put up. It is said that the building will be occupied by a Business Process Outsourcing company. Thus, a great starting point to increase income once the outsourcing company opens up.

Zapatista's Ole I

It was the Independence Day of the Philippines that my friends and I decided to meet up and dine in at Zapata's in Fields Avenue in Balibago Angeles City. Zapata's is an all - Mexican food restaurant which caters Class A to C.

It was my second time to visit this place and I really love the nachos that they serve. It has cheese dip and includes black olives and freshly sliced jalapeños. Unfortunately, I was not able to take a picture of it. Here are some of the dishes that they serve in Zapata's:
